When acquiring a drug/project “Due Diligence” is a comprehensive investigation and analysis conducted by the potential buyer to assess the risks and opportunities associated with the project before finalizing the acquisition. It involves a thorough examination of various aspects of the project. The goal of due diligence is to gather sufficient information to make an informed decision about whether to proceed with the acquisition and to negotiate favorable terms. In the pharmaceutical industry various experts from different functions will examine the documents and data (e.g. study reports, clinical data, processes and quality documentation) that are provided by the seller to ensure the money is well invested and that the risk of surprises is low. In this simulation the due diligence process is simplified and during the bidding or selling auction certain information is disclosed at certain timepoints.
